I'm happy to report that starting tomorrow, July 1, 2010, I will be working full-time for the Department of English at Uppsala University. Uppsala University is, as you may know, the oldest university in Sweden (indeed, in Scandinavia), and one of the most prestigious in Europe. So I am extremely pleased to be joining the faculty as a lecturer. I have worked on research projects with members of the Department of English for a couple of years, and I can say that they are nice people as well as good scholars. So I should fit right in (smirk).
Unfortunately, my position there is not a permanent one, so I will still need to be on the lookout for a permanent position, preferably in the Stockholm area. But having any job feels good, given the current economic climate. And I'm excited to get back to teaching after over a year's break.
